Transformation / Transition

Today, the church service was about "Transformation and Transition. These are two things we go through in life. We as individuals, make transformations for one age group to another.

Exp: infant, toddler, youngester, preteen, teen, young adult, adult & senior citizen.

We make transitions from elementary to middle school, to high school, to college. We make transitions in jobs and in locations. Each transformation and transition brings adjustments to change. Some adjustments come easily, while others take time.

Look at the butterfly. It wasn't always a butterfly, it went through transformation. Can you imagine if a butterfly decided to stay in the pupa stage? To go through 3 transformations, form a cocoon and decided that that was far enough in life. How tragic never to transform into what God called it to be.

Tell me, are you set in your ways, or are you willing to transform yet again into what God has called you to be, or make a transition to get to the place God's called you to?

It's given me something to really think about. What about you?

A different prespective

They say “The grass is always greener on the other side”. The other side of what? The fence? The other side of the grass? The other side of grass is dirt and roots and bugs. The other side of the fence is probably grass envy.
This summer, I had a opportunity to really look at one of my favorite flowers…though some would call it a weed, but I really took time to look at Queen Anne’s Lacy. I’d seen it from a distance as it danced in breeze and I seen it grace the roadside or an open field, but I never took the time to really look at it.

Queen Anne’s Lacy is just that, God’s lace. If you turn it upside down it looks like the inside of an umbrella this it’s green ribs. The flowers themselves are very intricate. It’s not just a flower, but several tiny little flowers that make up the one.

I was amazed by it’s beauty and it’s delicacy. I was stunned by it’s intricacy. In this vast universe, God in all His Glory, created this extraordinary flower. If He took the time to put all of this into what we deem a “simple weed”, then think about all He took time to put into each of us. We are His workmanship, uniquely and wonderfully made.

I sat in amazement and awe as I studied this flower. I held it gently in my hand as I examined it. It made me wonder, how much more of God’s creation had I taken for granted?

“Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.(Matt.6:28-29)

So, take time, not just to smell the roses, but stop and take time to really enjoy the beauty of God’s creation.

Can you say STRESSED!

Did you ever have an idea that you thought might be a possible opportunity in life? You know, the WOW idea that could bring in some money? The creative thing you like to do that could become something great? Well, until this week, I always thought I could do something more with my sewing…..something on a grander scale then what I’m doing now. My experience with week with running a business changed all that!
My boss went to Mexico for her sister’s wedding and left me in charge of the shop. I’ve run the shop before…a couple of hours here….a day there, but never for a business week. Mind you, I had help from my co-workers, but the thought of making sure all went well was overwhelming.
Actually, I was stressing out over nothing. I was being overly concerned. Through it all, I discovered a couple of things.
1) God is in control.
2) The bible says that being anxious does not add to your life. That’s true. It only gives you headaches!
3) I’d rather create and let someone else handle the business end of things.
In conclusion, as for this week, I’m gonna lay it down! Gonna let it go! Gonna let it be!
(Words of Natalie Grant) I’ve learned a lot. I also know that if called upon to do it again, I would with more confidence and less stress.

Second entry......?????

I just finished writing my second post and noticed a misspelled word. I went to edit and try as I might, I had problems. When I finally thought I had it worked out, I hit the button....and poof.....all I had was the opening sentences and the rest was gone.
I guess bloging isn't as easy as I thought it would be. I still have a lot to learn.

Tooooo tired to redo the post. I'll try again tomorrow.
Till then.

To blog or not to blog, that is the question

Well, here goes nothing. It seems the thing to do these days is to blog. First it was "Myspace" and then "Facebook" now it's blogging. Well, I don't want to be behind the times, so this is my debut.
I love to write, and there are those who say I love to talk....true, that is one of my faults. I read somewhere if you think it, blog it. My aim is to share from the heart. There are everyday thing that God shows me and these are the things I want to share.

So, here I am world! The first of many blogs.
