Thanksgiving is a time of year for more then just feasting or getting ready for Black Friday. To me, Thansgiving is more about being thankful. It's a time to count your blessings! When we take time to pause and reflect, we will find that we are more blessed then we thought.
In this day and age, the world has become all about me, mine & stuff. Here in America, you can own a car, own a house, have a tv in every room along with a dvd combo vcr player. You can wear the latest fashions, shop till you drop and have fast food or a fresh brewed coffee latte. You can own 50 pair of shoes and still feel like you don't have enough. We have the freedom to cross into another state with out being stopped at their boarders. You can have a higher education, become a doctor, lawyer, excutive or become president of the United States.
In America, we have freedom of speech, the right to go to church, the right to bear arms. We have young men & women who have volunteer to serve our country to keep our freedoms free.
My son Eric being one of them.
I have a home, a car, a job. I have stuff and clothes and shoes. I have food on the table and heat and running water. I am priviledged to live in America.
I am thankful for:
My husband
My children
My son-in-laws
My grandchildren
Having time with my parents
The health of my family
For friendships
The many freedoms we have here in the United States
But most of all my salvation through Jesus Christ and the freedom to talk about it
So, take time to count your blessings and see just how blessed you are.

A very lovely post! Each year Thanksgiving becomes more my favorite holiday! Gratefulness and family without the material - since we have so much already!
It's sad to hear of those people who felt the entitlement to purchase cars and homes and now are having them taken away.
